Well, I think the plateau is finally over. As of this morning I was down to 194 at long last and hopefully the weight loss will continue uninterrupted for a bit. *wants to at least get down into the 180's before the month is out*

Oddly enough, what seemed to do it for me was having a single piece of toast with two spritzes of "I Can't Believe Its Not Butter" spray instead of my normal snack. I'd heard from a couple of other people on the diet that your daily snack could be a piece of toast with peanut butter on it instead of a medifast bar since they had about the same amount of calories, but I couldn't help but feel like I might be cheating (since the medifast website specifically says no bread on this diet). I fully expected to be knocked out of ketosis the next day, but was pleasantly surprised :)

I'm also finding I'm not hungry anymore, really, now that I've been on this for almost three weeks...I used to pounce on my meals every three hours when I started Medifast, and now I don't really even notice when its time for one anymore. Sometimes I have to force myself to eat the last couple for a day and the smells of BBQ and pizza don't effect me as badly (which is good since i live right next to a stripmall food court and I get all sorts of smells through my window).

I'm looking forward to not being a slave to junk food anymore :)

Plan - Medifast 5&1
Height - 5'3
Age: 24
Days On Medifast - 14
Start Weight - 208 lbs
Current Weight - 195 lbs
Goal Weight - 150 lbs
Times Cheated - 0

I hit a pleateau these last three days because I overdid it on my green in my L&G and it knocked me out of ketosis (man, if i was going to be out of ketosis for three days, too bad I didn't find a tastier way to do it. ;D). Since it was just roughage, it didn't cause any weight fluctiation, at least, The symptoms of ketosis returned this morning, I nixed my allowed daily snack, and increased my water intake, so I hope to see the scale teetering down to 194 tomorrow or Sunday. *crosses fingers*

Got sick of chicken too, so I bought up some frozen Alaskan Pollock fillets to try this week so we'll see how that goes.

I'm a newcomer to the Medifast diet and am coming up on my second full week having been on it. So far I'm very pleased with the results, but still have a long way to go before I'm down to where I'd like to be. Here's my stats so far:

Plan - Medifast 5&1
Height - 5'3
Days On Medifast - 12
Start Weight - 208 lbs
Current Weight - 196 lbs
Goal Weight - 150 lbs
Times Cheated - 0

I nearly fell off the wagon yesterday and gave up after a very frustrating visit to my husband's parents' house where I was harrassed for choosing this diet and everyone kept trying to get me to eat. But I'm happy to say I managed to stick with my shake and turn them down. This morning I was another pound lighter and that made it all worth it. :)

Glad to have found this place, I'll be checking in!

After too long off I'm only up 6#s. I hope to drop those in the next week or two and get back on track.

I must confess I don't know how to advertise this group and get more people, so if anyone has ideas please let me know.

I lost control for a few days. But I'm back on track now. Today has been all about drinking water. Lots of water. And taking all my pills. I really want a big burger right now. But I'm resisting. In about 15 minutes I'll make my Cream of Chicken soup. That should be good for my burger craving. I don't want anything sweet. I love the soups.

I hope to be below 270 for my weigh in next week. I think I can make it. I have promised myself a cheeseburger when I make it to 265. I know it's wrong to use food as a reward, but I'm not ready for that step yet.

Yesterday was a perfect day, and I still didn't lose anything. I should probably stop weighing every day, but it's hard. I don't think I could go to only once a week. That's too hard right now. Maybe just a few times a week.

Anyway, not seeing a drop today lead to a bad binge this morning, but I'm back on track now. I'm not going to throw away a whole day because of it.

Tomorrow is my official weigh in at the clinic. I'm going to have to confess to my bad days. I just hope I don't gain because of my mess up today.
» From the beginning
I started on Wednesday the 13th. I guess that would make today day #5. I'm doing the complete program through the clinic Coastal Medical. They're very nice there. I'll be going in weekly for checkups, and for medical supervision including blood tests, EKG's and whatever else they need to do. With the complete program they say it's important to be doctor supervised because it's a VLCD (Very Low Calorie Diet). I'm only eating about 600 calories a day. So the tests will make sure I'm not freaking out my internal organs too much.

I eat 5 shakes a day. For at least the first 2 weeks I'm taking herbal appitite suppressors and fiber pills. I think they help.

For stats... I'm 27. I'm 5'4".

I don't remember where I first saw this, but I think it's really cool from tickercentral.com:

I had a bad 2000 calorie binge yesterday, but I'm back on track today. I'm surprised that I lost 5.5#s in just a few days. It's the first week, so it's expected to lose more than normal. But it is very inspirational.

Hello World!

I started this group because I was hoping to find others on LJ doing the Medifast diet. Please join in!

I'll be posting about my experience and hope to get others as time goes on.
